Our recently launched all-singing, all-dancing wholesale food range needs a big stage on which to strut its stuff. And we found it, at Cornwall’s biggest event for the region’s burgeoning hospitality industry; Expo West 2015.
Packed with the finest foodstuffs from local and distant shores, the new Two Brothers Foods product catalogue was unveiled at this annual trade exhibition, which takes place at the Royal Cornwall Showground at Wadebridge.
Expo West is a crucial event for hospitality businesses as they plan for the year ahead. It provides businesses an opportunity to showcase products and services and meet their customers face to face. Hospitality professionals use the show to source everything from restaurant furniture to booking software, meeting the region’s major suppliers and forging new business relationships.
Entering the melting pot for the first time, Two Brothers Foods and our sausage bods Kernow Sausages took up residence at our nicely kitted-out trade stand for three days of frenetic socialising, punctuated by Gavin’s two appearances in the Demo area.
It certainly was a busy few days. We were thrilled to welcome current and potential customers to our stand, where they enjoyed samples from The Brownie Baker, Cornish Patisserie, Nature Kitchen, Grumpies and De Bara Bread (served with beautifully cooked Cornish Rump Steak) – just a small selection of producers from our ever-expanding range.
The Two Brothers team wasted no time getting to know the visitors to the stand, and came away with an even greater insight into the needs of discerning hospitality businesses in the South West.
Meanwhile Director Gavin was strutting his own stuff, presenting two demos along the theme of getting the most out of your meat order, and making sausages with an apprentice chef. Gavin, who has been in the butchery trade for many years, was pleased to have the chance to pass on some of his skills. He said: “At Two Brothers Foods we pride ourselves on helping professional kitchens improve their bottom line and exceed customer expectations; honing butchery skills can have a massive impact on both.”
The team is now back in the office and forging ahead with new business relationships as a result of a successful Expo West – and believe it or not planning for next year has already begun!
